More than $420,000 in Prize Money and Prizes Are Provided for Competitors

The Land Rover Kentucky First Place Awards

The Kentucky Three-Day Event Perpetual Trophy. A hand-engraved silver tureen from 1875 will be awarded to the owner of the winning horse. The Kentucky Three-Day Event perpetual trophy is maintained in the International Museum of the Horse at the Kentucky Horse Park. A commemorative silver cup will be presented to the owner of the winning horse by Land Rover North America.

Land Rover North America will also award the triumphant rider of the inaugural Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event with the keys to a 12-month lease of a Land Rover Discovery. The keys to the car will be awarded to the winning rider by Kim McCullough, Vice President of Marketing for Jaguar Land Rover North America, following the Show Jumping finale.

Rolex Watch U.S.A., Inc. will award a Rolex Steel and Gold Oyster Perpetual Timepiece to the winning rider of the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event.

Breeder of the Winning Horse

A silver conus vessel on an ebony wood base provided by L.V. Harkness will be awarded to the breeder of the winning horse. The perpetual trophy is maintained in the International Museum of the Horse at the Kentucky Horse Park. A contemporary glass bowl and cooler will be presented to the breeder of the winning horse.

Highest-Placed International Rider

A silver claret on a custom round base provided by L.V. Harkness will be awarded to the highest-placed international rider. The perpetual trophy is maintained in the International Museum of the Horse at the Kentucky Horse Park. A contemporary glass bowl and cooler will be presented to the highest-placed international rider.

Highest-Placed Rider who is also the Sole Owner of the Horse

A cut crystal vase on a walnut base provided by L.V. Harkness will be awarded to the highest-placed rider who is also the sole owner of the horse. The perpetual trophy is maintained in the International Museum of the Horse at the Kentucky Horse Park. A contemporary glass bowl and cooler will be presented to the highest-placed rider who is also the sole owner of the horse.

Highest-Placed Youngest Rider

A silver scallop bowl featuring horse heads on each side provided by L.V. Harkness to the highest-placed youngest rider. The perpetual trophy is maintained in the International Museum of the Horse at the Kentucky Horse Park. A contemporary glass bowl and cooler will be presented to the highest-placed youngest rider.

The Zeppa International Trophy

An original design by Melissa Zeppa, this trophy will be presented to the horse-and-rider combination determined by the ground jury to have made the best presentation in the first and third horse inspections. The groom of the winning pair will receive an engraved glass horse cookie jar from L.V. Harkness and a Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event souvenir garment from Equestrian Events, Inc.

The Kentucky Cup

A specially designed Louisville stoneware tumbler will be presented to competitors upon completion of the Kentucky Three-Day Event five times and for each multiple of five completions. The Kentucky Cup was presented for the first time in 2008 to competitors who completed the competition 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 times.

Groom’s Awards

The groom of the winning horse will receive $500, an engraved glass horse cookie jar from L.V. Harkness and a Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event souvenir garment from Equestrian Events, Inc.; $250 and a Ceramic by Ouisha from Susan Domonkos in honor of her mother, Jane Ginn, who served as her faithful horse trials groom through the year; and $250 from Nanette and Tink Eichell of Stamping Ground, Ky.

Equestrian Events, Inc. will award $350 to the groom of the second-placed horse and $150 to the groom of the third-placed horse.

The Jockey Club Highest-Placed Registered Thoroughbred Award

$100, cooler, and ribbon for highest placed. Saddle pad and ribbon for second highest (reserve).

Memento Trophies

Engraved silver horseshoe trays from L.V. Harkness and presented by Equestrian Events, Inc., will be awarded to the 2nd- and 3rd-place finishers.

US Equestrian CCI**** National Championship Trophy

The US Equestrian CCI**** National Championship trophy, the Roger Haller Perpetual Trophy, will be awarded to the top-placed eligible U.S. rider. The perpetual trophy is maintained in Lexington, Ky., at the US Equestrian Headquarters and will be presented by the president of US Equestrian. A silver picture frame and cooler will be presented to the champion by US Equestrian. A red cooler will be presented to the reserve champion. Ribbons 1st-10th place.

United States Equestrian Team Foundation Pinnacle Cup

The United States Equestrian Team Foundation’s Three- Day Pinnacle Cup will be awarded to the top-placed eligible U.S. rider. The perpetual trophy is maintained in Gladstone, N.J., and will be presented by a United States Equestrian Team Foundation Honorary Life Trustee. The winner will be presented with an engraved bowl commemorating the award.

The Dubarry of Ireland Nations Team Challenge

To foster a friendly team competition during the individual competition at the CCI**** level. Rosettes will be given to the top 4 teams. $20,000 in prize money to be distributed as follows:

The Equis Sportsmanship Award

The Equis Sportsmanship Award, voted on by the Land Rover Kentucky competitors, will be awarded to one competitor who throughout the competition exemplifies the spirit of the event, serves as a good role model for the sport, respects others and overall exudes a positive demeanor and attitude. The winner will be presented with a gift from luxury clothing and tack brand Equis Boutique.

FLAIR, LLC

FLAIR Protect and PerformTM Award will give $1,500 to the highest-placed horse-and-rider pair using FLAIR Strip during both the Cross-Country and Stadium phases of the competition.

Shapley’s Groom’s Award

This award goes to the groom of the horse deemed by the judges to be the best groomed for the Show- Jumping phase of the competition. The winning groom will receive a prize and products from Shapley’s Superior Equine Grooming Products Company.

Dubarry of Ireland ‘Best Dressed’ Award

The recipients of the Dubarry of Ireland fashion award will each win a pair of Dubarry boots. A panel of judges will select the best turned-out and dressed male and female competitor at the first horse inspection.

Tipperary Dash for Cash Contingency Bonus Money Award

Tipperary Equestrian will award $5,000 to the rider in the Cross-Country portion only who: (1) is wearing a Tipperary 3015 Eventer Pro Vest; (2) has no jumping penalties; and (3) is closest to the optimum time. If all three criteria have not been met, no winner will be declared. In the event two or more riders meet the criteria, the winner with the best collective marks in the Dressage Test phase will receive the award. If none of these determining factors are met, no winner will be declared.

Completion Mementos

A double old fashioned glass with the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event logo satin etched and signifying “CCI**** 2018 Competition Completed” will be presented by Equestrian Events, Inc. to the rider of each horse that completes the competition.
